This past weekend nine #WeAreUSD231 band students earned the right to participate in the Kansas John Philip Sousa All-State Honor Band!

The honor band is made up of the top 6th - 9th grade students in the entire state of Kansas. The students from PRMS, TRMS, WMS and GEHS earned their spot by auditioning last October and they performed with the band on Saturday at the Lied Center at the University of Kansas.
#WeAreUSD231 sixth-graders were hard at work problem-solving how to get across the electric river without getting zapped in PE! Flexing their brains and muscles allowed them to team build to accomplish the task!
Mrs. Miller's 4th-grade class at Madison Elementary crafted meaningful bracelets, each student choosing a word for 2025 as a daily reminder of what it means to them. 🌟📿 #WeAreUSD231

#WeAreUSD231 Senior Kaila Burnside was selected as a QuestBridge finalist from a competitive pool of over 25,000 applicants after an arduous application process earlier this semester. QuestBridge finalists have the opportunity to rank partner schools with the hope of matching with a college or university of their choice. Typically, only 10-20% of students achieve a match each year.
Kaila recently received the exciting news that she matched with Northwestern University, where she will attend on a full four-year scholarship! This significant achievement reflects Kaila's dedication and academic integrity!
