Blazers Track & Field had an incredible week! After helping host the KVL Middle School Championships on Wednesday, the team headed to Piper for a JV meet on Thursday and wrapped things up by hosting the Trailblazer Invitational on Friday.
The Junior Varsity boys and girls squads are making history—undefeated through four meets and dominating the competition! This hard-working, talented group continues to impress coaches with their dedication and performance.


Kindergarten students at Sunflower Elementary have been learning about the layers of the rainforest and doing research on the different animals that live there. They even learned a fun song to help remember the different layers.


Wheatridge fifth graders took an exciting journey through the human body with Body Venture! This interactive experience brought science to life as students explored organs, systems, and how their amazing bodies work.


For their ABC summer countdown calendar, it was game day for 6th graders at WMS!


Sunflower Elementary 4th graders wrapped up their economics unit with a hands-on field trip to The School of Economics! 💰The #WeAreUSD231 students experienced what it’s like to run a business, pay taxes, shop smart, and explore the world of money in action!


Early Childhood friends from Sunflower Elementary visited the Administrative Offices to celebrate May Day!!!

The culmination of the #WeAreUSD231 third-grade’s ecosystem unit at Madison Elementary was amazing! Each classroom represented an ecosystem with an individual animal research projects that students proudly displayed and shared with parents and second-grade attendees.


The Kansas School for the Blind brought their STEM units to Moonlight Elementary’s STAR Day to support our April theme: everyone has unique strengths and challenges. Since vision provides the brain with about 80% of its sensory input, our #WeAreUSD231 Moonlight STARS are learning to better understand and appreciate different abilities, becoming more supportive helpers and kinder friends along the way.


8th grade students at TRMS enjoyed a special presentation from Johnson County Library representatives during their ELA classes. Students learned about the many resources the library offers—including how to get a library card, access homework help, and find volunteer opportunities to earn service hours.


Tessa Heinen, Jayden Kasper, Hollie McNaney, and Ethan Perez had the opportunity to compete in the State Personal Finance Challenge at Wichita State University. The team was given two hours to analyze a fictional case study and prepare a presentation addressing the provided questions. They then presented their recommendations in a 10-minute presentation and responded to follow-up questions from the judges.
The judges were highly impressed with the team’s ability to dive deep into the data and use research to make thoughtful recommendations projecting as far as 20 years into the future. The team placed FIRST and qualified to compete at the national level this June in Atlanta, GA!


Peer leaders from GEHS and WMS attended the Sources of Strength KC Round Table, a day filled with games, collaboration, and idea-sharing. The goal? To keep growing the Sources of Strength programs and continue spreading hope, help, and strength across the district.


The #WeAreUSD231 Fire Science students spent a morning at the County Communications Center and learned about how 911 calls are handled as well as job opportunities and the training needed to work there. Students were also able to see some calls in action and ask questions to our host for the day, Ryan Reschke, who serves as a Training Supervisor.


Madison Elementary had a blast "signing" future kindergarteners!✍️ #WeAreUSD231 loved welcoming these soon-to-be superstars — it’s the first step in their big adventure!


The WMS Mathletics Team is hard at work! 💪📐 Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders are sharpening their skills and getting competition-ready for April 23rd.


6th-grade students participated in Gummy Bear Government! They had to make a model of six different types of government that were discussed in the unit for ancient Greece. Of course, they ended up being able to eat their models!
