It was a banner weekend on the mats as Gardner Edgerton High School proudly hosted the Sunflower League Wrestling Tournament, showcasing determination and championship-level performances from both the Lady Blazer and Blazer boys wrestlers.

If there were any doubts about the Lady Blazers, they erased them in dominant fashion. The GEHS girls wrestling team claimed the 2026 Sunflower League Championship title and compiled a staggering combined score of 337–71, overwhelming opponents with relentless effort, nonstop pressure and a championship mindset from start to finish.

The GEHS boys wrestling team delivered an impressive showing, finishing third overall in the tournament with a 4–1 record on the day. A special highlight of the day came when standout Roman Clouse earned his 150th career victory in front of the home crowd.

Hosting the Sunflower League Tournament provided an opportunity to showcase the dedication and excellence of GEHS wrestling. With both teams building momentum at the right time, the future looks bright as the Blazers head into the postseason ready to compete at the highest level.
